How to Perform

  1. Stand in front of a sturdy chair or box.
  2. Place your right foot fully on the surface.
  3. Drive through your right heel to step up, bringing your left foot to tap the surface.
  4. Step back down with your left foot first, then your right.
  5. Complete all reps on one side before switching, or alternate each rep.

Common Mistakes

  • Pushing off the trailing foot on the floor rather than driving entirely through the elevated leg.
  • Knee of the working leg caving inward during the step.
  • Using a surface that is too unstable.
